THE SLIM - CONTOURING THE LOWER FACE

Slimming & contouring the lower face by relaxing the jaw muscle

Do you ever experience pain or tension in your jaw, or find yourself clenching your teeth? It's a common issue that many people face, but there's a solution that doesn't involve surgery or a lot of downtime. At Contour Collection, we offer a non-invasive procedure that can slim and contour your lower face while relieving tension and pain, so naturally we call it The Slim.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE JAW MUSCLE

Let's talk about your jaw muscle, or masseter muscle, which is located on each side of your face along the jawline. This muscle can be overactive, causing a wider lower face, breakdown of tooth enamel, or even migraines. By using Botox or Dysport to relax this muscle, we can help slim your lower face and relieve tension and pain.

HOW FACE SHAPE PLAYS A ROLE

When it comes to beauty, we often analyze what makes a face attractive. According to popular opinion, heart-shaped or almond/oval-shaped faces are the most pleasing. However, if you have an overactive masseter muscle, your face may have a square shape, with a straight line running from your cheekbone to your lower jaw. But with just three treatments of Botox or Dysport, the masseter muscle can shrink, allowing for a diagonal line from the lateral cheek to the lower jaw bone. This can change a square face to an oval face, which can make your cheekbones more prominent and your face feel thinner and more feminine.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?

At Contour Collection, we provide a simple and straightforward non-invasive procedure that involves injecting small doses of Botox into the masseter muscles (that only takes 15 short minutes). Depending on your unique needs, the dosage can range from 20 to 50 units, with an average of 30 units. This treatment is designed to relax your jaw muscles, alleviate tension, and transform your facial shape. In addition to providing a more aesthetically pleasing look, the injections can also help protect your tooth enamel, reduce headaches, and release tension.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTED RESULTS?

You'll start to notice a difference in the appearance of your face in as little as 8 weeks, and by 9-12 months, the full effect will be visible. Not only will you see the aesthetic benefits, but you'll also experience relief from symptoms like tension, clenching, headaches, and teeth grinding within just 2 weeks of the treatment, and this relief can last up to 3-5 months. The best part is that there is no downtime required, and you can resume your daily activities right after the procedure. Just be sure to avoid laying down or working out for at least 4 hours afterwards. While some people may experience an odd sensation when chewing after the first treatment, this is temporary and usually resolves within a couple of days.

The procedure itself is quick and virtually painless, taking only a few minutes to inject a small amount of Botox into the masseter muscle. The dosage will depend on your individual needs, but usually ranges from 20 to 50 units. With just three treatments, you'll see a significant change in your face shape, with a more tapered jawline and more prominent cheekbones.
